"Every song you love, every memory you cherish, every moment that has moved you to holy tears has been given to you from the One who has been pursuing you from your first breath in order to win your heart. God's version of flowers and chocolates and candlelight dinners come in the form of sunsets and falling stars, moonlight on lakes and cricket symphonies; warm wind, swaying trees, lush gardens, and fierce devotion. He knows what takes your breath away, knows what makes your heart beat faster."
While reading through the book Captivating, there are some things that breeze through my mind and don't sit. However, this recent chapter about letting yourself be romanced by your Jesus has really touched my heart. The concept was so beautiful that I could not help but share exactly what I've read. It's the small ways in which He chooses to romance your heart. He knows you, therefore He knows what to use to pull on that dear heart of yours. Thinking of things in this light can really give you a whole new perspective on those things in your life that make your heart smile and ultimately are meant to draw you nearer to Him. If you've never thought about it like this before.. try it. As they instruct in the book.. ask Him:
>>> Jesus, how are you romancing me now?
And then notice those little things in your everyday and smile because that is the pure love shining in from your Jesus straight to your heart. That sunset that you loved.. that was for you. That new song that seemed to speak right to your heart.. your right it did because it was supposed, that's what your Jesus intended. Those wildflowers on the side of the road that draw your heart and set your soul at ease.. thank your Jesus. Mostly.. just let Him romance you. Open up your heart to being romanced by your Jesus.
