There was everything from jealousy to selfishness all the way to relief and pure joy for what was to come for Alison. Jesus did a lot in my heart. He showed me that this isn't about me.. it's about Him. It's about those children. It's about His kingdom work being done. This isn't about what Coral wants to do in Fond Blanc, but this is about what Jesus wants to do in Fond Blanc and right now He is using my sister Alison in a beautiful way. My heart is still not perfect. Jesus is continuing to remind me of these truths and chisel away the icky pieces of selfishness and envy that remain. But by the grace of God my heart is being changed and renewed. And by the grace of God I am joyfully finishing this blog post, finally. ----> | Alison Praisewater, my friends. I would like to share a little bit about my dear sister. I met Alison through working with NextStep last summer. She was the point staff for our site in Haiti. Over the course of everything leading up to my internship, living and serving in Haiti and then coming back and processing through everything Haiti... I have gotten to know Alison as a friend and sister. It was this past year that Alison felt the calling and then made the obedient decision that she would be moving out to the tiny mountain village of Fond Blanc where the orphanage resides. There were a lot of emotions that were paired with hearing this news. <------- It has been on my mind for many months to share about my sister Alison, but I needed some time before my heart was on the same page as my mind to be able to write about and post this. I do not know what my role in the future looks like in the lives of those children, in the village of Fond Blanc, or even in Haiti. I may end up getting the privilege to serve alongside Alison someday and I also may not. But for now I choose to partner with her through encouragement and prayer. It is my privilege to share with you Alison and I would love to (finally) encourage you to follow the link to read more on her blog... alisoninhaiti. |

This life is not my own and so I choose to take the hand of the One who knows what lies ahead. Along the way we sing, we dance, we are learning portuguese and living in Brazil, and always gazing on beauty.^^^^
