I am often times reminded of the many blessings that I am given in my life. There are things that are small blessings that I often take for granted. I am working on this. I am working on the constant 'want' and trying to focus only on the 'need'. It isn't an easy transition though. After spending a summer surrounded by a culture that was not consumed with excess, I learned so much. I was able to gain an appreciation for the small things in life that make it beautiful. There are so many blessings in life that are overlooked, and I want to see that beauty and thank the One responsible for it. There are so many things in my life that other friends in different parts of the world do not have the luxury of having. So many of the things that I have or receive are privileges. Even the small things that seem silly to be grateful for. I want to be grateful for the little things in life. I'm choosing to be grateful for the little things in my life.
Today ,I am grateful that I get to go to class and obtain an education.
I am grateful for the pencil that I found on the ground today.
I am grateful for coffee shops and heart to hearts.
I am grateful for the privilege of living in the dorms and living life with these beautiful friends of mine.
I am grateful for my job.
Lord, help me to be grateful for the little things in my life. And help me remember Who to thank for these blessings, big and small. Mesi Jezi. Thank you Jesus.
