Dreams and passions. Those greatest ambitions in our lives, that we all have. A cherished hope, one which you hold dearly. You know those ideas and dreams that make your heart beat, they make you breathe easier, and your soul sing. In the recent, I have given much thought to graduation in the near future and imagined it as something scary and I think that was mostly due to the fact that I didn't really have too much of a plan after graduation. And then the other day I had this thought that I do not have any solid ideas or plans.. but I do have dreams and passions that Jesus has placed in my heart and what better time to explore those than the present. I have completely unlimited options because I have nothing concrete and this pure joy stirred up inside of me at the this thought. I realized that I could do anything, go anywhere.. and just the thought of that made my heart jump a few beats. Now.. I do believe firmly that prayer is going to be a large, essential part of the decision making progress for me in my future ventures, as Jesus' is the opinion of which I care most about, after all He does know me better than I know myself! I have already begun talking to Him and seeing what His thoughts are about some of these dreams floating around in my mind these days.
However, I also do think that those dreams and desires come from somewhere, ya know? I believe that Jesus plants inside of each of our little hearts special passions and things that make our heart beat. So with that.. I can now say that I am most excited for graduation. I am most excited for what is going to come next in my life. I know that whatever journey I embark on next.. I will have trials, I will learn, I will laugh and probably most definitely cry, but I will also grow closer to my Jesus through it all and do everything in His name and for His glory. Ask me what I'm doing after graduation and I won't have an answer for you. Ask me what my dreams, passions and what makes my heart beat and I would gladly share what I know. Maybe I will graduate in december and go back to my heart in Haiti for a month... maybe I will spend an entire semester and summer just working to get to my dreams, maybe I will teach English in another country for a year.. maybe I will eventually end up leaving this country that I've called home for so many years and take up residence a few miles south.. and maybe, just maybe I will do them all (I'm still praying but hopeful :) Wherever I go, I know who goes before me and whose name I go forth bearing. That's what I hold onto.
